I had a blast taking photos with Ryan, who will be a Senior at Wilsonville High this year! We took these at the park down the hill from his home and found so many cool little spots to get shots that we nearly ran out of light! Ryan's favorite thing to do is act and I'm looking forward to seeing him in some productions this fall. Thanks for a great time and congratulations Ryan!
So many great locations....
...with great color in the reflections...
Even Ryan's dog Brady wanted to get in on the action!
After our first attempt last week got rained out, I had an awesome Senior session tonight with Ryan. I will be editing these over the coming days, but I couldn't wait to post at least a little sneak peek of one of my early favorites!
I took this photo just this past weekend out at beautiful Cannon Beach, Oregon. You can't see it here, but to my left is Haystack Rock, and this whole area was the setting for the 80's movie "Goonies". The fog made photos challenging, but also provided a really cool effect. For you aspiring photographers out there, you'll notice I broke one of the unwritten photography rules about placing the horizon in the middle of your photo. But as all photography rules are made to be broken, I thought doing so gave this image good balance.
Oh, and the dog? That's my 1-year old Labrador, Boomer. Let's just say he enjoyed the ocean. And now, you can enjoy the free wallpaper!
I had the awesome privilege of taking Melissa's Senior photos this past week. Melissa will be a Senior at West Linn High School this fall and I'm so excited that she has agreed to be a Senior Rep for me! If you are a Senior at another Portland-area High School and are interested in earning free prints, please let me know!
This session was so much fun, and Melissa had a great time too. It's so great when your client is relaxed, having a great time, and is willing to try different poses. The coolest part was that I barely had to give her any direction. She's a natural in front of the camera!
Enjoy some of my favorites below and, as always, don't forget the mega-slideshow!
Congratulations Melissa!
I call this one "The Album Cover". Somewhere at this very moment, Taylor Swift is jealous. :)
I love this blue door!
Melissa was just full of expression and laughter and I thought these 4 images captured all of that!
Aqua Chuck Taylors, baby!!
We were fortunate (although our ears weren't!) to have a train go by while shooting down in the warehouse district and it gave us a perfect "rotating" backdrop!
I love it when clients let loose! :)
A little Photoshop fun...
We headed over to the waterfront to finish the evening... These are two of my favorites from that setting.
Here's a little sneak peek of a recent Senior shoot that was more fun than should be allowed! I'm super excited about the rest of the images from her set, but here's one of my favorites in the meantime. Enjoy, and watch for the rest coming soon to a blog near you!
A week or so ago, I had a great time out at the office of Orthodontist and good friend, Dr. Andrea Laidlaw. I took some photos of their new, remodeled office and some new staff photos as well. Look for them on their website soon!
If you've been following this blog, you know that I have pledged to share a new wallpaper each month featuring one of my images. Well, I'm a little late for July, but I thought this image from the previously blogged about Car Show was appropriate for this summer month. Enjoy!
